Mysore is the city in India were Tirumalai Krishnamacharya lived and thought Yoga to people from all over India, several of his students became the most recognized yogis of all times.
In Mysore, India at the SKPJ Ashtanga Yoga institute, Xico, studied this method and was recognized with a authorization to teach.
Francisco was born in Sintra, in a small village. In is childhood he and his brother lived in their father's farm, spending most of their time with the farmers who took care of them.
Raised to work from very early, he grew with a set mind of being tough and hard on yourself to be the right way of living.
Cooking, farming, caring wood or cleaning were part of his routine from an early age
Xico has a brother and four sisters, his closer brother Manu is only one year apart, they are inseparable and best friends until today.
They both were raised together, and they shared a passion for sports.
During adolescence Xico found yoga. His mother introduced him to this practice as a way to calm a personality that was now showing the first signs of rage and anger.
He started taking yoga more serious at the age of 20 after spending a couple of years feeling depressed, with low energy and disconnected from others.
“It was such a painful time, nothing made sense, I felt unmotivated, swinging from lack of energy or extreme anxiety. My friends felt distant and I felt like being inside a tunnel, deeper and farther away from life. “
At the age of 23, after 10 years of doing yoga, he traveled to India with the clear intention of finding the yogis living in the Himalayas to learn and live with them.



Living in India changed his life, the adventures in the Himalayas left a thread of learning that is still unfolding now days.
He returned to live in Portugal at the age of 28, and lives in Sintra where he was born.
His main ambition is to live a simple life. Learning from nature, being happy and following the way of love.
He spends most of his time farming, with his animals or rock climbing in the cliffs next to his house in Sintra.
Teaching Yoga evolved over the years, Xico never stops studying about movement, meditation and breathing techniques.
But a few things remains the same in his teachings
The intention to help others to heal, to find tranquility and Joy in life.
And to follow the way of Love

Tim Miller and Xico
1998 - Started learning yoga with his mom.
2004 -2007 : Started Learning Ashtanga Yoga and improvisation with Tim Miller at the Ashtanga yoga Center in Ensinitas. Here he completed his first teachers training with Tim Miller. During this period Xico did courses with other teachers such as Mathew Sweeney and John Friend
2004 a 2007 - Initiated his Studies about Ayurveda.
2007 - Traveled to India, where he lived until 2010
Wile living in India
2007 a 2009 -In Goa Xico met Rolf and Marcy Naujokat. For a couple of years they were his teachers and inspiration. At their school Xico started learning third series of Ashtanga Yoga, with their friendship he found the simple way of living. The pure and honest hart of a true Yogiis.
2009 a 2012 - Xico Traveled to Mysore, India and registered at the Sri K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga yoga research Institute.
Initiating his studies with the Sri K. Pathabhi Jois, Sharath Jois and Saraswati Jois. He remained living in Mysore for 2 years.
2010 - He receives the Diploma ( authorization ) to teach ashtanga yoga Level 2 by the Sri K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga yoga research Institute.
2013 - Xico is invited to assist Sharth Jois in his classes at SKPJ Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute
Extra Yoga
2007 - Upon to India, Xico takes of in a journey, and walks from Rishikesh to kedatnath temple in the mountains of himalays. Walking 360k through the unknown. During this walk he met several of the sacred tribes of india, such as the Naga babas living in the ice
2013 - In Mysore he conducts an interview for the Zen Magazine with his teacher Sharath Jois
2018 -Movement conference with: Ido Portal - Marcello Palazzo - Odelia Gold - Shaifaran.
2021 - Makes a documentary about yoga and rock climbing for the Sport TV-ESPN
2021/ 2022- During the first years of Covid, Xico immersed once again in to Yoga. Dedicating all of his time to Developing and exploring the best ways to adapt what he had learned so far, to help with more precision a wider range of people.
During this time he recorder, hundreds of hours of improvisation and structured new sequences, movements and connections that are now used by many teachers all over the world.
These development is still being structured and put out at the Mysore Sintra Classes, with the help of his Students and Friends.
2023 - Started learning Apneia with João Pedro Parisot @ wavecrushers-trainingsystem.
This new incite in to the world of breathing has a strong influence in his classes. Adapting what he learned at the Pool and bringing this knowledge in to the yoga practice.
At the same time it inspired Xico to do further studies in to the world of breath control. Developing sequences of breath used by him and his students to practice and develop breathing capacities on the yoga Mat, walking or any situation in life.
Particularities about Xico and his Classes:

Xico is am abbreviation used in Portugal for most people called Francisco.
He was raised and still lives in an environment of adventure.
Nevertheless his classes are about healing and being calm and in peace. Creating an environment of community and equality and bring tranquility, happiness, health and well being.
His biggest passion is learning. He his known among his friends, as beeing great at any sport he puts his mind to.
Xico is very connected with Tradition and metaphysics. Always exploring the Traditional Knowledge present in all communities around the world.
His main inspiration, is Love.
